“Rare” is a word that can hardly describe vintage Audemars Piguet chronographs. In fact, between 1930 and 1962 just over three hundred examples were produced in total, after which no more chronograph wristwatches would be made until the modern era. Such a small production, combined with the scarce information publicly available on the subject, gave rise to a very obscure field, until the recent publication by Audemars Piguet “Audemars Piguet 20th Century Complicated Wristwatches”, which brings together all the available archive information on the complicated timepieces made by the manufacture in the last century. The watch in question has no reference number but is described in the Audemars Piguet archives as a watch corresponding to photo number 1517 “Lunette Monnaie” or coin bezel. Audemars Piguet speaks of 9 pieces produced and "documented"! This 18kt yellow gold example is in excellent condition. Cognac alligator strap and 18kt yellow gold buckle, all AP. Completed by an Audemars Piguet certificate of authenticity, original box and one year of our warranty on functioning. Worldwide shipping with insured FedEx courier.
