Hour & Hand sits on a quiet corner in Brooklyn, with a watchmaker's bench visible from the counter. Owner Daniel Okafor opened the shop after a decade servicing watches for other retailers, and joined Pursure as one of our first sellers.

Inspected, then sealed

"Every watch that leaves here has been checked on the timing machine," Daniel says. "We check the rate, make sure the date changes cleanly at midnight, then reseal it with the box, papers and warranty card exactly as the maker sent it."

Why the papers matter

For a new watch, the warranty card is proof of where and when it was bought. It is also what a manufacturer's service center asks for first. Hour & Hand dates each card on the day it ships, so the warranty starts when the watch reaches you.
