The “Tank Sante” was introduced in 1921. As the model name “Sante” (French for “curved”) suggests, it features a design that elongates the Tank shape vertically and a slim case that curves to hug the wrist. Released in 2021 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Tank S’entre, the “Ref. WGTA0057” is a limited-edition model of 150 pieces from “Les Éditions de Cartier,” a collection that reissues Cartier’s iconic timepieces. It faithfully recreates the original’s classic design, making it a favorite among collectors. The 18K yellow gold case exudes an overwhelming presence thanks to its bold dimensions of 46.3 mm in height by 23 mm in width, while its slim profile—approximately 6 mm thick—and contoured shape that follows the curve of the wrist ensure exceptional comfort. The vintage-inspired eggshell-colored dial features elongated Roman numerals, a railroad-style minute track, and blue-steel Breguet hands, faithfully recreating the original design of the era. The “Cal. 9780MC” movement is based on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s “Cal. 849,” which is only 1.85 mm thick; thanks to this ultra-thin movement, the watch achieves an exceptionally slim and elegant case design.
