Originally conceived in 1927 and reintroduced during the golden era of Cartier design in the 1970s, the Ceinture remains one of the maison’s most overlooked collector's pieces. Named after the French word for “belt,” the model derives its identity from its unique geometric case, inspired by the shape of an elegant belt buckle—a design unlike anything else produced by Cartier before or since. This particular Jumbo example represents the largest and most desirable execution of the Ceinture. Manufactured entirely in solid 18k yellow gold, the case combines sharp architectural lines with the timeless elegance for which Cartier is renowned.
